A brief mention in a travel book led me to research the Chinese and Uighur legend of Xiang Fei, the fragrant concubine. This legend grew up around a real-life Muslim woman, taken into the Forbidden City as a concubine in the 1760s. It didn’t take long before I was hooked and writing more books set in China!

If you’d like to see a slideshow of pictures from my research trip to Beijing, you can visit my Pinterest board or click here to view a slideshow (opens in a new tab).

My historical books set in China have recurring characters but can be read in any order. You can read more about each one by clicking on the image. The first two are already available, the third is a work-in-progress.
